Xcelerate Acquires 51% Interest in AfiyaSasa Africa
A Membership Interest Purchase Agreement has been signed by Xcelerate, Inc. (OTCMKTS:XCRT), for acquiring a 51% interest in AfiyaSasa Africa, LLC, recently founded by Dr. Dilan Ellegala and Doyle Word. The latter is a startup medical technology and virtual health company.
The move to acquire controlling interest is because Xcelerate believes AfiyaSasa Africa is aptly positioned to help patients in developing countries meet their medical needs by boosting reach of physicians through the technology supported by software that utilizes and integrates artificial intelligence (AI) and Augmented Reality (AR) developed by AdviNOW. Those in remote areas with sparse medical infrastructure and/or limited medical professionals can be immensely benefitted by this application.
The system can be accessed on cell phones, tablets, or computers, which allow licensed physicians and other medical personnel to conduct initial check-in, triage, and determine the most appropriate care path, remotely. Incorporated with facial recognition and storage capability, it can identify returning patients too.
A set of Q&A dynamically integrated with the systems proprietary AI component, takes measurements using medical devices (stethoscope, thermometer, pulse oximeter) connected to phones, computers, etc. Combined with the AR, the AI assists with Q&A to come up with diagnostic possibilities, testing and treatment options and next steps for the patient.
