Optex Systems Holdings Inc (OTCMKTS:OPXS) was one of the companies that had been in the news cycle yesterday and it is going to be interesting to see if its stock comes into focus among investors today or not. The company, which is involved in the manufacturing of precision optical sighting systems for the global and domestic military as well as commercial uses, made an announcement yesterday with regards to a new order.
On Tuesday, OPXS stock ended flat at $2.6800 with more than 20.98K shares, compared to volume of 9.83K shares. The stock moved within a range of $2.6300 – 2.6800 after opening trade at $2.6800.
Optex Systems Announces $2.23 Million Order for Optical Assemblies
The order in question is worth as much as $2.23 million and it is part of a supplier agreement that is going to run for several years. The company reached the agreement in question with a commercial premium optical devices manufacturer in the domestic market.
The products that the company is going to supply are going to be manufactured by its Applied Optics Center Division. The general manager of the Applied Optics Center Division Bill Bates spoke about the development as well.
He noted that the contract that had been signed was with a customer which had been with the company for a long time. More importantly, it was yet another order that was going to be fulfilled by the Applied Optics Center.
Bill Bates, GM, AOC stated “The Applied Optics Center is pleased to announce yet another order release of optical sub-assemblies supporting our long-standing customer. AOC’s commitment to providing quality optical assemblies and maintaining well-trained employees is a key factor in this continuing business relationship.” Total orders related to these product types now exceed $28.9 million dollars since its inception in early 2015.
OPXS stock is trading above the 50-Day and 50-Day Moving averages of $2.32 and $2.03 respectively. Moreover, the stock is trading above the 200-Day moving average of $1.97. The company has a total market capitalization of $21.44 million.
