In recent times, there has been considerable focus on the lithium space owing to its long-term potential. There are a number of companies involved in the lithium exploration industry that investors could track, and one of those could be Noram Lithium Corp. (OTC:NRVTF). On April 5, the company had in fact been in the news cycle after it announced the appointment of Greg McCunn and Dr. C. Tucker Barrie to its board of directors with immediate effect. In the news release, Noram Lithium Corp. also provided details of the credentials of the two new members of the board, and it could be a good idea to take a closer look.
The company revealed that Dr. Barrie was an economic geologist based out of Ottawa who had more than 30 years of experience as a mining industry consultant. He also provided his expertise to many governments across the world. He also served in senior executive positions for a number of TSX Venture Exchange-listed companies in recent years and provided his expertise for the development of a number of base and precious metals projects. It should also be noted that, other than his work in the mining sector, Dr. Barrie has also been involved in metallic mineral deposits and host rock research.
Greg McCunn was described as a highly experienced mining executive who had worked in both the base metals and precious metals industries for more than three decades. He holds an engineering degree and also an MBA, and he has led a number of junior mining companies from the exploration stage to the operations stage. McCunn had also served as the Chief Executive Officer of a number of TSX Venture Exchange and New York Stock Exchange-related companies. It remains to be seen if the two appointments result in any traction for Noram Lithium Corp. stock.
