The announcement about the commencement of an exploration program by a mining company is often a source of considerable intrigue for investors. One of the companies to have come into focus in a big way on Monday was Fremont Gold Ltd. (OTC:FRERF) after it made an announcement with regards to the start of the 2024 exploration program at its Urasur Project in North America. The company owns the project in its entirety. However, that was not all. The company also announced that it had appointed a new advisor in the form of Dr. Fiona Childe.
The Chief Executive Officer and President of the company, Dennis Moore, spoke about the exploration program as well. He noted that over the course of the past couple of years, Fremont Gold had managed to create a portfolio of highly prospective copper-gold assets in the Central Tethyan Mineral Belt, located in Armenia. He went on to state that it was one of the more prolific metal-producing belts in the world; however, it remained unexplored despite the possibility of the discovery of top-tier precious metals. He also stated that the team at Fremont Gold was excited at the prospect of commencing its 2024 exploration program at Urasur.
The project consisted of an intensely altered and mineralized zone stretching 14 kilometers in length, which indicated the presence of a large hydrothermal system. The company also provided some other details about the initial work program at Urasur for 2024. The work would include a ground magnetometer geophysical survey across the license area with a line spacing of 200 m, trenching over surface mineralized zones, infill soil sampling, and enhancement of the existing road network so as to provide better access. It could be a good move for investors to consider adding Fremont Gold stock to their watch lists in light of the latest announcement.
