One of the companies that may be worth tracking this morning owing to the developments of yesterday is Northstar Clean Technologies Inc. (OTC: ROOOF). The company came into focus after it announced yesterday that it had received the first delivery consisting of waste shingles for its planned facility in Calgary, Alberta, for the reprocessing of asphalt shingle.
The delivery was received by the company as part of its three-year supply agreement with Ecco Recycling & Energy Corporation, a major waste diversion provider in Calgary. Northstar Clean Technologies made the announcement with regards to the signing of the supply agreement with Ecco Recycling on April 18, 2024. In the news release, the company noted that the delivery that it received was part of its larger 2024 shingle collection plan. Northstar Clean Technologies noted that it had two supply agreements and would continue to work with other shingle suppliers for powering its Empower Calgary Facility.
The President, Chief Executive Officer, and Director of Northstar Clean Technologies, Aidan Mills, spoke about the latest developments yesterday. He noted that everyone at the company was thrilled to witness the quick progress in the partnership with Ecco Recycling, and that was evidenced by the receipt of the first delivery of asphalt shingles.
It also constituted a key milestone since it commemorated the beginning of the pre-commissioning volume from Ecco Recycling, a major step that would continue post-commissioning. This was the second supply agreement signed by Northstar Clean Technologies, following the earlier one with IKO Industries Ltd., which was announced on January 8, 2024. Northstar Clean Technologies is a clean technology company based in Canada and currently involved in the sustainable recovery and reprocessing of asphalt shingles. The company is credited with the development of a proprietary design process as well.
