Liquidmetal Establishes New Manufacturing Site in Hangzhou
Liquidmetal Technologies, Inc. (OTC:LQMT) has announced a significant expansion of its global operations through a new joint venture in China. Liquidmetal Asia Holdings Limited—a wholly owned subsidiary based in Hong Kong—entered into an agreement to establish Hangzhou Feifeng Liquidmetal Co. Ltd. in collaboration with a private investor. The joint venture will focus on building a dedicated facility for the production of advanced amorphous alloy components in Hangzhou.
Under the agreement, Liquidmetal Asia will retain a 70% ownership stake, while the investor will hold the remaining 30% with an initial investment of $6 million USD. The new manufacturing site, situated in Hangzhou’s thriving innovation corridor—home to industry giants like Alibaba and Foxconn—will cover 71,000 square feet and accommodate up to 40 die-casting machines. The facility is expected to be operational by mid-2026.
