The gold sector continues to be on the radars of investors owing to the skyrocketing price of the precious metal, and one of the companies from the sector that came into focus recently was Sitka Gold Corp. (OTCQB: SITKF). Yesterday, the company came into focus after it announced the appointment of a new Vice President of Exploration.
The Appointment
The company announced that it had appointed Gilles Dessureau to the position, and it would be interesting to see how the market reacts to the news. In the news release, Sitka Gold also announced that Dessureau would replace Greg Dawson in the role. It was also revealed that Dawson would continue to be a director in the company and eventually move on to the role of Senior Technical Advisor.
Technical Advisory Team Boosted
However, that was not the only announcement. Sitka Gold also announced that it strengthened its technical advisory team by adding Brad Thrall to the team. The company expressed excitement at the appointment of Dessureau to the new position and extolled the value of his experience as a senior executive in the mining sector.
