Former NASA Astronaut, Steven Swanson, Named to Xeriant’s Board of Advisors

In a three-decade career with the agency, Swanson has been engaged in advancing spaceflight technologies. He began as a flight engineer in Aircraft Operations Division of NASA’s Johnson Space Center. Swanson has been on three missions to the International Space Station, logging over 195 cumulative days in space. He has finished five spacewalks and travelled over eighty-three million miles in orbit.

Keith Duffy, CEO of Xeriant said that Steve would be an incredible asset to the team as it aims to explore potential applications for Retacell fire retardant in aerospace. Duffy added that the company is looking to develop technologies for the Advanced Air Mobility market.

Steve Swanson added that the firm is keen to be part of Xeriant’s team and is excited on the current projects as well as vision as a company. Swanson added that development of non-toxic fire-retardant chemicals can have significant benefits in the space industry. Swanson has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics from the University of Colorado and a Master of Applied Science in Computer Systems from Florida Atlantic University.
